Spirit Photograph at Glastonbury Abbey
07.19.2009 Ghost photograph? Spirit Photograph? The more you look the more layers you see.
The story behind this photograph is that I was shooting a couple (they are getting married) in the woods behind Glastonbury Abbey in Hingham. Towards the end of the shoot we decided to quickly go into the stone labyrinth there.
The labyrinth is near the small cemetery where the monks are buried. There was a couple walking who saw our photography, and the bride-to-be clad in a hot pink dress. They hid behind a tree so for fun I aimed my camera toward the tree and pressed the button. There was no fog, no mist, and nothing but air in front of me. There is no technical way something could get that blurred unless it was right in front of me. Something in front of them would not have looked as blurry.
